Captain Jack is living in my bathroom
Apr. 8th, 2012 09:53 pmYesterday Julie and I were experimenting with vodka and food flavouring.
I have the food flavouring because it goes awesomely with porridge, and we were curious as to whether we could make lemon, strawberry or orange vodka the simple way.
The answer being that you can, but the flavourings are oil-based, so you have to stir like buggery or you end up with a layer of lemon floating on top of your vodka. Which is not too bad if you're planning on downing it as a shot, but not ideal.
One of the flavouring was "rum", which I'd bought because I was curious, but turned out to be a mix of vanilla (which I already have) and ass.
So today it got poured down the toilet (as there was washing up in the sink).
And that is why our bathroom smells like an alcoholic pirate is sleeping in it.

Date: 2012-04-08 09:47 pm (UTC)We ended up with pink vodka that tasted quite nice, and some very pale and pasty looking fruit that tasted rather strong (and not all that nice)
