This deserves further study.

It was thought that the Scythians were a pretty mixed bunch and it's nice to see this proof of it.

Surely this was not a surprise: (a) the Eurasian land mass has no truly impassable barriers to the mass movement of peoples; and (b) ancient rulers normally ruled whoever happened to be living in the areas they ruled ( or at least claimed to rule).
