Someone left out this lovely chest of drawers free to a good home at our bus stop home this evening. So after getting the kids home I grabbed a quick taxi back to pick it up. It needs a little wood glue for the bottom two drawers, but for that and a tenner taxi fare it's a very good value addition to the kids' room!

Berlin is full of free stuff like that, if you had a big van and a couple of days, you could probably furnish a flat with stuff you find just by driving around. Even in the village here I could have had whole kitchens (old but better than mine), carpets (ditto) and furniture. People leave them out (deliberately, I think) days before the collection has been arranged. (You get 2 free a year)
