Yeah, reading the article it seemed likely that at some point the quality would dip to the point where competitors would step in.

1. as the article says at the bottom, this applies to ALL sorts of things. I am HAPPY to pay once for expensive + good, but I have to somehow know what to get and where. Tools, clothes, bags, hiking boots (and when did "waterproof" boots stop having gortex inner liners that stop you getting wet through the lace tongue???)
