4) I strongly dislike that "capitalism" has become my one-word response to so many of the things I want to criticize, but it seems like it blatantly presents itself as the obvious culprit just that often. No society should be structured with profit as the primary goal behind its production, legislation, and social policy. Any system must carefully monitor its use of finite resources, yes, but "profit" absolutely is not a required part of that necessary process.

1) Don't use 'Luddite' to describe people who can't figure out technology, as this author suggests contemporary usage is. A Luddite is someone with a burning hatred for it, regardless of whether they can figure it out or not.
