Sadly, very true in my country too. A lot of French people won't do what's best for everyone on their own. Their motto is "the law is for everyone but me" or "the laws are stupid so I won't follow them". We lack strong penalties and law enforcement and look where it got us : back to where we were in May for hospitalized people in severe condition. Deaths and positive cases in institutions for seniors on the rise again. sigh

Of course you can trust common sense! Why, just look at North and South Dakota for a great example of trusting common sense! They're #1 and #2 at helping keep the U.S. #1!
