Check your labels - always check your labels. Sugar is everywhere. We've had such a massive decades long fit of the vapours over fat that sugar has been used in absolutely everything. I stopped using the salt brand that my family has been buying since the dawn of time because, yes, it has sugar in it. Seriously. Check your labels on everything (you will also need to know all the words that mean sugar: things usually ending in "ose".)

Stops iodide being oxidised, apparently, so probably quite common in small amounts in iodised salts. The only figure I can find instantly is 0.04%.

I don't have a box in the house, so I can't look at the Nutrition Facts label (which you can *almost* read in this picture) to confirm that this is still the case. I haven't bought this salt since around 2004.
