Date: 2018-09-20 12:41 pm (UTC)To be honest, I'm not sure.
I think that they have network connectivity out to the location (possibly via satellite, to be honest), but no electricity grid, so they're trying to do something which can turn electricity into money which isn't "selling electricity", at least until they can get themselves hooked up.
Plausibly, that's Bitcoin. Alternatively, data centres focussing on low-bandwidth/high processing work would do it, but I'm not sure how much other demand there is for that.

Date: 2018-09-20 01:55 am (UTC)I don't have a box in the house, so I can't look at the Nutrition Facts label (which you can *almost* read in this picture) to confirm that this is still the case. I haven't bought this salt since around 2004.
