I thought the theme tune was the best bit. Really innovative. They should give the composer some sort of award.

Daniel Hannan may well turn out to be right but I don't think he envisaged starting from here.

Or, indeed, starting from anywhere actually located in the same space time continuum as the UK.

I think I was almost halfway through that article before I realized that it was sincere.

Daniel Hannan was entirely sincere.

Cultural bias tweeter has some good things to say about how technology isn't neutral. It's an example of the "Cold Equations" fallacy: what seems to be neutrally objective is not; it depends on how it's framed and presented.

Sign of the times further down the thread, when someone claims that, since the original tweeter didn't create the translation chart, it's therefore plagiarized. I don't think people even know what plagiarism is any more.

I was a little puzzled by the heading - I mean who else would have found it? Then I realised that it was "found by archaeologists" ie that archaeologists are saying "well this looks like Julius Caesar's site but we don't really know" which is all anyone can say at this point.

Then I spent some time trying to construct a better heading. "Julius Caesar's invasion site may have been found" "probably found in Kent" but it does read a bit weakly as a heading. Ah well, I'm probably over-thinking this.

Archaeologists believe they have found...?

Or do you particularly want Caesar at the beginning as the eyecatcher:

Julius Caesar's Britain invasion site found, say archaeologists

This is what should always happen when you try to pull a fast one on Marty Baron's crew, whatever news service they happen to be working for at the time: full public humiliation, and hopefully charges to follow.

Two wingsuit fliers pull off a breathtaking stunt over the Alps when they jump from a mountain and then land inside an airplane

One thing that struck me when watching this was that if either of the people had missed the plane they would have died, since wingsuits don't reduce velocity enough to survive landing. So, for me this falls into the cool but *really* foolish category.

Can you carry a parachute whilst wearing a wing suit?

Actually those wing-suiters did cheer me up a bit.
