Wow -- you wouldn't ski on that graph without a *lot* of training, there's some steep slopes at the end.

Reminds me of something I first heard about Nortel Network shares. At least if you invest in the right type of beer you get 10p back on the bottle.

Still not quite as bad as the one from January '09 here:

(I bought in at 10p, which was nice. Less nice was when I decided to buy in at 40p.)

If you zoom out the HMV one I was looking at it goes from 272 in around 2005 to 2.90 today. The RBS one goes from 600 in 2007 to 20 today. RBS looks like the smarter investment. :-)

This is true. Although neither one was a very good place to put your pension!

Though the RBS one does have the awesome precipitous drop off though.
