Date: 2011-05-11 02:38 pm (UTC)I've been finding that having the referendum over means I'm naturally spending more time thinking about interesting geeky things rather than just going "POLITICS! AARGH!" all the time. It makes a nice change :->

Date: 2011-05-11 07:24 pm (UTC)The parenting thing -- I will try to keep those points in mind. Chores before she's two though? I know she is developing fast, but right now I don't think there's anything I could ask her to do. And I am having a ponder about whether my swanky new kitchen is about status symbol, or just that I want a jolly nice kitchen. I do feel it's the latter though.
BMI: hahahaha.
AV referendum: I thought the material we had was pretty shit too. Bummer all round really.
Android: nice to see this. Sounds sensible. Hope that means it'll roll around to my phone!
Movie geek: site broken. Image not loading, or only partly loading. WTF.
(Also, GAH, what is it with all these sites like Gawker et al? Do they all run on the same CMS or something? They look identical and lately they all have this annoying thing with using JS for links and thus not loading the damn link you clicked.)

Date: 2011-05-12 10:57 am (UTC)The Captain climbs everything. I can't work out how to stop him. He's fast and determined. I hope a few tumbles will make him more circumspect but so far not. I'm fully resigned to visiting Sick Kids A&E at some point soon.

Date: 2011-05-12 11:15 am (UTC)Recently I had the idea that maybe if I take C to the playpark and let her have a really good climb that'll use up her climbing desire for the day... she climbs up the slides backwards and since last weekend tries ladders too.
Re: Chores and Clambering
Date: 2011-05-13 03:16 am (UTC)this generally involves asking her to do something, letting her crack on with it, then checking everything *very carefully* afterwards to make sure no-one will die.
watching her sheer joy at doing / fixing stuff is totally priceless. We drive each other completely nuts.
Re: Chores and Clambering
Date: 2011-05-16 09:57 am (UTC)I think the Captain climbs the things he does in the house because he wants to be closer to something and climbing is the way to get there. He climbs the kitchen stool to help with cooking or washing up, he climbs the window seat so he can look at the birds, he climbs the bed to come for a cuddle. He also likes the climbing gear in the park.
It's difficult to tell what's going on because it all changes so quickly.
The Captain had a pretty bad fall yesterday and I wonder if it will make him more circumspect. It's not the climbing I mind but the dismount.
