*warning, heavy stats content*
Might be wise to just look at the pictures and conclusion unless you've got stats expertise I'm unaware of :)

Date: 2011-01-13 11:18 am (UTC)I have _no_ idea what the entertainment/media world is going to look like in 20 years, but I suspect that it will be quite different. I hope we find new ways of making money for books, but I'm not convinced.
Dammit. That reminds me I owe a decent response to

Date: 2011-01-13 11:54 am (UTC)So many people now feel ripped off even if they pay 1p or something, because they are so used to getting it for free off the internet.
I mean, I don't know for sure, but I'd wager textbook sales have collapsed since wikipedia became the be-all and end-all of people doing 'research'.
Far from being the great liberator of mankind, the internet seems to be likely to create absolute stagnation.

Mind you, to be honest, the main thing that makes me feel as if I might want an ebook reader, beyond the initial cool technology thing, is mostly because part of my brain is going 'Ooooh, I wonder how many torrents there are for books!'
So, yeah. I can see piracy being a major problem.

Date: 2011-01-14 01:19 pm (UTC)I'm sure there was another one too but I don't remember it. Oh! There were a couple of pretty good Cat/Sam oral sex scenes in Lip Service. Mm, not sure I count niche lesbian telly the same way; you sort of expect cunnilingus in those (although with the L Word you were often disappointed).
Sorry to hear that Portman's orgasmface isn't up to scratch. Still, I'll reserve judgement 'til I've seen it.
Maybe I'll make a post about this. It's been a while since we talked about sex on my journal...
