Things Achieved Today (with Julie)

1) Bought new duvet cover and sheets. And a steamer (nice simple thing that sits on top of a pot on the stove).
2) Looked at new glasses for Julie (after discovering recently that she can't see nearly as well as she should be able to and gets a headache from computer screens).
3) Plastered the holes in the bathroom we discovered four months ago when we stripped the wallpaper.
4) Made up an amusing story about a princess/rogue to keep Julie amused while she plastered the holes in the bedroom.
5) Got Julie addicted to Matzos.
6) Made delicious meatballs for dinner. And vegetables with the steamer, which works incredibly well.
7) Watched The Hangover, which was funnier than it had any right to be.
8) Slew a dracolich.
9) Went for a walk in the snow.

Naked people

Here is a flash app with naked women in it.

They don't start off naked - they start off as a clothed line-up. But as you pass your mouse over each one you see what real people look like under their clothes. I don't know the origin of it, although if anyone speaks Russian then the comments might let them know.

What I'd love to see is this crossed with something like the Height/Weight Chart I posted a few days ago, and with more genders (and sexes), a massively expanded age range, more races, and much more of a weight range.

I've known an awful lot of people who have grown up ignorant and scared of their bodies, and it makes me furious that the vast, vast majority of body imagery that we see around us is of an incredibly limited section of the possibilities. I'm fine with fantasy imagery and wanting to see things that make us feel good - but that shouldn't be the _only_ time we see nakedness.

It's the reactions on the faces of the passers by that I love the most.

Holes

Just watched Holes, which was just as good as I remembered. We spent the entire movie thinking that the two main (kid) characters were good, and then discovered that the lead was Shia LaBeouf.

Sigourney Weaver, John Voight and Henry Winkler all great as well.

Should you fancy an actual _good_ kid's movie, then I can't recommend it highly enough.
