Holes

Just watched Holes, which was just as good as I remembered. We spent the entire movie thinking that the two main (kid) characters were good, and then discovered that the lead was Shia LaBeouf.

Sigourney Weaver, John Voight and Henry Winkler all great as well.

Should you fancy an actual _good_ kid's movie, then I can't recommend it highly enough.

On a similar note, I'd recommend The Next Avengers. It's a fairly recent animated kids movie which is a kind of old style What If? The Avengers are killed by Ultron and some years later their children (all new characters*) emerge from hiding to stop Ultron once and for all

It breezes along and is very accessible even if you don't really know the history. The kids are great and Ultron makes for a pretty scary villain: there's no holding back, he's out to murder them.

Well worth a look.


*Captain America's son, Thor's daughter, son of Black Panther and Storm, and the son of Hank Pym and the Wasp.

I love it too.

A good movie that happens to be accessible and appropriate for a wide variety of ages.

And I love Sigourney's entrance. Mmm mmm wow!
