Dr Who: Daleks in Manhattan
Apr. 23rd, 2007 06:02 pmOh Good Lord.
Last week's Who was disappointing, this week's was just bad. ( spoilers ahoy )
Thank goodness Heroes is on tonight.

Musical Thoughts
Apr. 23rd, 2007 11:08 pmThe thing about Hayseed Dixie is that they _should not work_. By all rights they should be a three minute segment in a Billy Bailey routine, a "Gosh, it's music you like played in a different style" riff, a throwaway amusement.
And I started off feeling that way about them. The first two songs they did were fun, but I got the feeling I'd be bored by the half hour mark.
An hour and a half later I didn't want them to leave the stage.
And I think that what makes them work (besides them being fantastic musicians) is that they truly seem to care. They love what they're doing, and it comes through in the performance. You can't help but enjoy the music because _they_ enjoy playing it.
I'll be going back next time, for sure.

Things I want the web to do for me #2412
Apr. 23rd, 2007 11:54 pmI'd like to know when Australian Pink Floyd are next going to play Edinburgh.
I can sign up for their mailing list - but that'll flood me with stuff I don't care about.
I can create a Google Alert (or a Yahoo one, or whatever), but that's terribly imprecise.
Do any of the ticketing agencies let you sign up for when band X is playing in your area?
