The thing about Hayseed Dixie is that they _should not work_. By all rights they should be a three minute segment in a Billy Bailey routine, a "Gosh, it's music you like played in a different style" riff, a throwaway amusement.

And I started off feeling that way about them. The first two songs they did were fun, but I got the feeling I'd be bored by the half hour mark.

An hour and a half later I didn't want them to leave the stage.

And I think that what makes them work (besides them being fantastic musicians) is that they truly seem to care. They love what they're doing, and it comes through in the performance. You can't help but enjoy the music because _they_ enjoy playing it.

I'll be going back next time, for sure.

Stumbled on them by chance a year and a half ago. Damn, but they're good!
