I'd like to know when Australian Pink Floyd are next going to play Edinburgh.

I can sign up for their mailing list - but that'll flood me with stuff I don't care about.

I can create a Google Alert (or a Yahoo one, or whatever), but that's terribly imprecise.

Do any of the ticketing agencies let you sign up for when band X is playing in your area?

Only you would be interested 2 days after they last played edinburgh!!! Ticketmaster let you sign up for notifications. Pair this with your ticketmaster flexible benefit and you'll also get a weekly E-Mail telling you upcoming shows.

Are Ticketmaster notifications localised? Can I tell them who I'm interested in?

Yes and Yes, how do you think I always manage to go to wads of concerts?
I knew about Oz Floyd but having seen them 4 times previously had decided ticket prices were a rip off these days

Ents 24's Email notifications are pretty good, but you are limited to 50 artists for Email notification.

There is also Pollstar, who do seem to have details of just about every gig on the planet, but requires a subscription if you want to add more than 5 artists.
