Calling all biologists
Jun. 10th, 2008 10:31 pmOk - so evolution happens through small, incremental change, right?
So how does it work when something big happens - like a change in the number of chromosomes?
If a creature with 26 chromosomes gives birth to something with 28 chromosomes, how does that child find anything to mate with?
Or can creatures with different numbers of chromosomes mate with each other?
In which case, how the fuck does _that_ work?
