Some members of the EU are calling for Nazi symbols to be banned across the EU.

Needless to say I'm against the idea. Banning ideas, symbols, speech, etc. that doesn't _directly_ call for people to be harmed is something I'm definitely against.

I hope that sanity prevails.

That's really quite scary that they're doing that. IMHO.

It's the eternal political correctness thing, which attempts to cure the symptoms and ignore the disease.

Besides, Nazi symbols are really cool! Because all evil is cool, and the Nazis had great art direction.

I'm so torn.

Agreed. How can we learn from history if we're not allowed to talk about it?

Especially given that the swastika has more cultural connotations than just the Nazis - all they did was hijack an ancient symbol.

But then, nobody in their right mind would call their child Adolf these days ...

Ban Nazi emblems, introduce Navajo, Polish, Chinese, Greek, Buddhist, Japanese, and Hindi ones.
