I'm a bit of an oddity, in that I dance while not under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.  In fact, I prefer not to drink and dance, as I then feel significantly clumsier.  Most people apparently feel too ashamed of of waving their bodies around in public to do it unless their embarassment centres are doped up.

I love it though - I was ecstatically happy last night dancing away to Cubanate, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, etc - My whole body feels like it's pulsing with energy - it's the most alive I ever, ever feel.

However, it does cause me to sleep in the next day and now be late for a boardgaming session.

Which I really ought to go and get dressed for, now I've finished breakfast...

I will often dance with my eyes closed since with them open, I end up following too much of other people's rhythm and it clashes...

As for alcohol, I ask folks if they really want to see my _more_ uninhibited...

I think you'll find that's the effect physical exercise has on most people, whether dancing or aerobics or running etc.

i feel exactly the same way. what's your opinion on glowsticks? there seemed to be hardly anyone at the nightmare using them.. i love them because i feel they both help the flow of where i want my body (both arms and body position itself) to go, plus they look snazzy :)

i'm fairly sure i've seen some form of 'glowglove' online ages ago; i can't remember if it was using those thin glowsticks one gets, or if it was some form of led or other electronic setup. there's always the option of uv nail varnish which i also make use of; it's better for more intricate hand motions but one's proximity to uv lighting is always be at the back of one's mind :)

Word. However, dancing is a great form of exercise because you are engaged in the project of expressing the music. It ceases to be a chore or a torture session and becomes a genuinely enjoyable exhibition of prowess and creation.

Hmmmmm.

Yes.

I was dancing at the club owend by Radiohead last night... The music wasn't great, but they played Prodigy so I was happy. The DJ had no idea about mixing, though..

Fun night.
