Nobody has an answer to the Palestine/Israel problem.

At least, as I'm assuming anyone smart enough to have figured it out would _also_ have figured out how to use the "Comments" feature of LJ, the people who complained about text-boxes being too small were simply making excuses...

An israeli work colleague has told me that the solution is to flatten palestine. This doesnt seem to me to be a very constructive move.

Well, lets all play UN for a moment here

Yes, that would be typical. Howzabout this: start a palestinists movement wherein the Palestinian people start reversing their diaspora by moving to say Ethiopia (probable Jewish Homeland), or Kashimir (Guess what, You BOTH don't get it). Should be done in time for Peak Oil to concentrate power in the monolithic mideast Arabian Penninsula economies of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwai and Iran (plus minor Emirates). Also, Jordan will not have to deal with Palestinians as the Turks have had to deal with the Kurds. And thank god noone s dealt with them as the Turks (in a spate of modernization under the "Young turks") dealt with the Armenians. If Zionism started seriously in 1880, the Palestinianism should have blown up its hotels, bulldozed its homes and begun its irrigation projects by 2070. Cheers!

Hey, I've made a constructive, serious suggestion. Not one anybody'll take, but...

Hey some of them were reasonable.

Surely the only way forward is to try to get religion away from the politics of the situation. Without that it's just impossible.

For example is it actually possible to criticise Shiron without being accused of being anti-semitic?

yep. I almost always do, and I never am. Helps if you're agnostic.
