Date: 2004-09-23 07:25 am (UTC)John Kerry was interviewed on NPR (http://www.npr.org/features/feature.php?wfId=3931094) (the closest thing that the US has to the delightful BBC) yesterday. One of the things he alluded to is the need for restoration of presidential credibility with the rest of the world community. Do I think he'll do a stellar job as president? I doubt it... I didn't support him in the primary elections for a good reason. Do I think he'll be better that four more years of the same? Absolutely.
We share a world. American arrogance regarding use of it's resources has gone too far.
The media focus needs to come off of the nit picking campaign issues and start focusing on things that make us all get along in the world. It's a humiliating thing to be an American right now. When Bush went to war, America crossed the line from being a world leader to being a world power (not that we haven't been heading in that direction under other administrations).
I wept that day.
