Long involved dream last night that was pretty much an episode of the Justice League of America, focussing largely on Batman. The plot revolved around him losing his powers.

Yes, yes, I know.

There's no reason to have Batman in the JLA unless he's bankrolling it.

The cleverness is debatable. The equal of some of them, yeah, but there are plenty of clever types in or associated with the JLA. And if that's the only reason to keep him around, Bats should be worried.

As for the cash thing, is Superman going to want to keep doing that to pay for all the staff on the ground, upkeep of equipment etc etc when he could be out saving the world? He doesn't have super-patience. ;)

I like the little aside in... I think it's Animal Man, where he's been inducted into the JLA or whatever-it-is and asks "Why Blue Beetle?"

Of course, Blue Beetle is pretty cool in Kingdom Come.

Batman's Bruce Wayne identity has pretty useful political contacts... the JLA have to get those zoning permits for Sekrit Bases from somewhere ;-)

I think the governments are more likely to trust Superman than Mr Wayne, but he is 'placed' I guess. Same with Wonder Woman (Goddess & ambassador) and Aquaman (King of most of the planet) if you want to talk political power.

I'll hear nothing against Blue Beetle (or Booster Gold) but Animal Man was great. Wonder where he is these days.

The thing I love about the JLA is that they are all meta humans except for Bats. He's the glue that keeps the whole thing together and it breaks many of the conventions aswell. The least human of the bunch, The Martian Manhunter Jon Jonz is possibly the most human one, in spirit</>. I love the dynamic and music of the show. Can't wait for a DVD boxset.

On a final less geeky note, interesting dream - the fact that Batman has no powers per se - reverse dream logic I assume this is down to. That or watching too many 'toons ;)

I'm trying to figure out how Batman would lose his powers. So, he's huffing correction fluid, and forgot where he parked his batmobile and where he left behind his utility belt?
