Cool pic Lilian took of the Scott Monument, near which I have my lunch, on nicer, sunnier days.

Makes me miss Edinburgh. (I've never seen that monument in the sun though!)

Dude. It's been a year, hasn't it? I want a sandwich from Marks & Spencer and have punk rockers try to sell me homeless newspapers! I wanna climb Arthur's Seat again! My god, man, I can't afford it!

You vile tempter.

A.

Yep that will do it, it looks great, nice picky. That would be a good place for my new flat.

and its veryveryvery narrow at the top.

My Mum always calls it the Saturn five...and it must be said it does look like a Gothic Spacecraft.

Me misses edinburgh too. Been too long since I was there (all of a year...but that was just an afternoon with Bekka, Adam and Khi).

I think it was Ellen Galford (in one of her Scottish novels) who described it as "a cathedral mixed up with a lavatory"... (but I could be wrong: I've been remembering that line with a snigger every time I pass it, but I haven't read the book I found it in, whatever it was, for years and years...).

It's a very spectacular climb, for sure.
