Date: 2026-01-18 07:47 pm (UTC)FMV game. I feel like everyone was trying to find a use for the data storage, and at that time FMV was probably the "killer app" for high data games til 3D really took hold, and larger engines became more common.
I also remember "PDF" samples - I think the idea was subscribing to digital CD-ROM discs (the way you would buy Encarta on CD). PDFs were still so large and took so much time to download vs the CD-ROM distro method.
But yeah... That said I think I touched Silent Steel once, and never looked back.
The Chinese Empress game looks far more amazing and modern.
