"new parents"? Have you seen North? (Lots about that recently, as it's considered Rob Reiner's worst movie.)

Argh, the faceless blob takes the kids to school! (Most mannequins I've seen have faces.)

It reminds me of a Sapphire and Steel episode I saw as a child (and which has creeped me out for the last 44 years).

Oh, and yes, I have seen North. I remember very little about it, except that it was a little too self-aware, and so hard to emotionally engage with.
