"Everyone is above average"

I am deeply amused that both answers 2 and 5 are true for me. All test I have taken place me in the ludicrously intelligent category (testing higher than 99.9% of the population) and more than half of the people I am close to test significantly higher than I do (the number of people I am close to who are in the top 0.0001% of people who take intelligence tests rather surprises me).

post a "how stupid are you?" poll - we can see how the results tally.

I don't know.

I used to think I was supergenuis guy.
I don't know if I've gotten stupider, or just gotten some humility. I'm just not so sure anymore.

I think I act smarter than most people; I don't know that I actually AM smarter.

The self-ratings are interesting. I can't personally answer this -- I mean, I could say 'well above average intelligence' but that's surely true for most people you know. The box I'd want to tick is 'I know my skills, and I'm top-notch at some things, but pretty ordinary at others. What's more, I notice as I age that I have come to substitute experience and guile for pure intellect, and this seems to be at least as handy.'

I'm ticking "average". I know that I'm very bright, but I don't have any proof that I'm brighter than anyone else. What I *do* know without question is that I am talented, dedicated and thoughtful and that is more important to me than having a certificate with a large IQ score written on it.

Certainly above average, but really wishing I wasn't

(this is _not_ because I want to be more stoopid)

I think I'm somewhere betwixt 1 & 2. I'm not more intelligent than everyone else I know, but certainly more than most that I know. At least locally. *sigh* This is depressing, as it means I've rarely been challenged. Hence that nasty habit of attempting the harder crossword puzzles in ink.

I know I'm above average - but not in this group.
