Can anyone recommend a decent comain hosting company? I'm beginning to feel the need for more space, and more control over the domain, and I'm wondering if the prices I'm paying are reasonable. They were two/three years ago, but they don't seem to have got significantly cheaper since, despite hard drives getting much cheaper.

I use Nebularis , but only chose them because they're one of the few hosts anywhere that mention they support REBOL. I've found them very good though. Prompt replies to any queries and always helpful. They're a Canadian company, hence the two sets of dollars for their plans.

Oh, and while I'm at it, I might as well plug some friends' hosting on the off chance you're doing charity work...

Have you considered virtual hosting? Pretty much ultimate control over everything and fairly reasonably priced these days. My boss uses Bytemark who are supposed to be pretty good.

WestHost has been rock-solid. As has Atjeu, if you need more firepower. I don't know how much you're willing to spend, but both are on the spendy side.

We run linux and windows 2000 server. MY price is 9.95 US for simple, but have lots of room for friends. What are you wanting and we can discuss.

we use ipswitch Imail, the interface thing is no problem. We have a secondary server that can easily be configured to handle php and perl. I have yet to set limits on space, and only occasionally (sp?) on bandwidth usage.
How's that sound?
