drainboy, a series of pictures drawn as part of an experiment in the 1950s into the effects of LSD. The artist was dosed and then asked to draw a portrait of the medic at regular intervals.
The results are interesting, to say the least. He seems to go through various different styles and approaches, reminding me of a variety of modern styles.

Date: 2004-01-06 08:51 am (UTC)on the serious skeptical note, yes, i wonder how experienced the artist was with drugs and how much the context effected his behaviour.
but with my experience with milder hallucinogenics everything is done very sincerely, particularly artistic or communicative endeavours. i have some very odd drawings and attempts to write recorded during hallucinogenic episodes and they have a similar tone to the recorded speech of the artist here.
LSD completely ruins my ability to draw
