6. Did someone not know what is and is not "doing the thing" ?

It sounds obvious and common sense, and I learnt nothing; I even already have the guilt in the "right" places.

On the other hand, my mum reminded us that there is nothing as uncommon as common sense :-(

I think everyone, in their heart of hearts, knows that only "doing the thing" is doing the thing. We all can tell when a necessary amount of planning and prioritisation spills over into procrastination. It seems to be nonetheless a trap that many people fall into.

My personal weakness is the reading/watching side of learning and understanding. I have to remind myself that that is OK, but it's to go in "entertainment" time.

I would say, "Well we must be doing something right!" but yes, it is concerning if we are under-prepared.

I think they would be in favour if they were persuaded that there was a genuine threat of invasion. Unfortunately you generally need to make the preparations before the threat becomes obvious and immediate. However, there seems to be plenty of evidence that Putin is doing a lot of things short of actual invasion.
