7 days ago was our earliest sunset (15:37)
7 days from now is our latest sunrise (08:44)
Today is our shortest day (6:57:37)

I am looking forward to the return of the light.

I'm only 54N, so I get about half an hour more, but I'm totally with you!

Also, my cat's appetite *should* slowly start to decrease again (judging by the past 2 years, he's 3.5). It better! He's within 100g of his max weight...

Also, I find that I personally go by sunrise time more than day length. It's not until the sun rises earlier that I start to feel the year has turned.

A bit further north here in Dundee, and our earliest sunset is 15:33 and latest sunrise 08:46.

The late sunrise doesn't bother me now so much as the sun setting so early. Because of my progressive neurological illness I'm now sleeping for most of the time. So I will typically sleep through sunrise and then quite a few hours more. But early sunsets really bug me now. I tend to be a bit more awake by the mid/late afternoon, and on a rare occasion may even be out of the house. I can't say I'm looking forward to warm summer weather, especially with more global warming. But bring on lighter days and especially evenings for me please :)

Our days are about an hour longer, so I have no right to complain, but the knowledge that the days are already getting a tiny bit longer is also what helps get through the dark and cold periods of the coming weeks. :)
