Today's ITV news led with 9 minutes on the broken second metatarsal bone of England's leading footballer.

The second, lesser, news story was that Israel was still pressing forward in its attacks on Palestine.

Nice to know which one is more important.

The free and remarkably newsless Metro paper managed to somehow relegate warfare, the queen mother, politics and almost everything else to the inside pages today..

For the esteemed cover... only the story of David Beckham's terrifying ordeal as his very -bones- broke... and the similar story of some idiot from Leeds united (one of the ones who'd been in court recently) getting his jaw broken.

I was so shocked by these two stories that I could barely take in the suicide bombings, trouble at home and abroad and exciting restaurant and club reviews.
