4. Jump Height

One of the measures of the athletes is jump height in cm/kg, which suggests that someone twice as heavy should jump twice as high !

I haven't done a proper survey, but the samples I have suggest to me that jump height across the animal kingdom is fairly flat for those that can jump. Fleas, dogs, people, kangaroos, dolphins and humpback whales all jump "about 2m" above the takeoff point of contact (water for aquatic animals).
Error may be a factor of more than two, but certainly less than ten.

I do struggle with the idea that in people high-jump is proportional to weight.

I'm 5'6" and slight and although I played badminton at a good standard at uni in mixed doubles, my lack of inches was always a disadvantage even though at that point I was still producing 'T' as I hadn't had surgery yet.

I think it is generally a fair assumption, though.Not many men are 5ft 6 (or the local equivalent). Whereas even Even if not always accurate, it is more likely to be true than not? Unless transitioners tend as a group to be shorter?? I have no idea.

Here in Germany, you would be pretty much exactly average height for a woman.

Interestingly, I believe I recall that early or increased production of T in boys actually leads to SHORTER height, due to premature bone end closure??

I think height is an advantage in high jumping, because of the technique used (unlike standing jumps). And taller people tend to weigh more. Might be just that.
