I'd rather just stay home and not expose myself to COVID.

I am really really sick of staying home most of the time and lonely to boot. Also had a booster in October combined with flu vaccine. But I'm still pretty much avoiding congregating inside. I'm fed up with it all, truly I am. But long COVID would be worse. I wish we could develop an effective vaccine that STOPS you getting it and stops you passing it on. I suppose not enough people would or could get such a vaccine though, even if it were developed. :-(.

I don't want this to be the rest of our lives. This horrible choice. Or non-choice, for children who must attend school, and adults with in-person jobs.

If the assumptions in the article are about correct that indicated approx 70TW of installed solar PV. 1TW of deployment in a year would be 1/70th - implying either an increase in deployment is needed or that solar panels have a useful life of 70 years, probably significantly more.

My guess is that solar panels will turn out to have a useful life of about 30 years. So we're looking at say 4TW per year for 20 years (4*20=80 less replacement of existing installations) and then a steady state renewal of about 3TW a year.
