Gideon just got extremely excited at the traffic lights and it took me
several seconds to realise that it's because he thinks this statue is
of Superman.

Date: 2023-09-18 10:28 pm (UTC)When I was about 11 we got a present of a set of little plastic statues of the Presidents of the US, which we played with as if they were dolls, because boys will play with dolls if they're dolls for boys.
We gave them various individual characteristics, some based on the real person and some not. The statue of FDR was wearing his Navy cape (which I've only ever seen one photo of him actually wearing). Like Gideon, I immediately thought of Superman, so in our universe, FDR could fly.
