1. Yes, the way things are at present is still far too emotionally toxic. While it may be too late for me and my age cohort, younger generations still have some degree of hope.

2. Noting that while Canada's doing better than the UK and US, there are people in Canada who consider that fact a danger to their bank balances, and they are lobbying the provincial governments across my country accordingly.

The UK has more deaths from treatable diseases than any other rich country except the USA. It's because the NHS is badly underfunded.

I think we should maybe start admitting that the UK might not quite be a top tier "rich country" - at least not the majority of the population. I mean, yeah, on a world scale, but within the very top tier? I don't see it. Wealth inequality is huge.

I love the government's response, that the NHS is "one of the most efficiently run healthcare systems, and that investment is happening to further improve services". Efficiency is clearly more important than people dying!
