Oh yeah, he definitely turned into a complete contrarian, and then into a bit of a "I'm so smart I can see through society" demagogue. I hadn't realised he'd reached the "racist grandpa" stage.

I date it to 1997 or whenever The Dilbert Future came out. But he was showing signs of brain rot as far back as 1993. (I stopped reading the strip after 1997.)

Really, he slowly went off the rails after he jacked in the day job, circa ... 1991?
