1. I feel this and have sent a link (with quote of the receptionist bit) to my parents and brother, who force me into that same waiting all the time. Letting them know how (because I am blind, cannot drive as a result, and therefore rely on them to get me places when we're together) their dawdling and extreme lack of punctuality is like torture a la Guantanamo Bay. I have spent far too much time standing in front of the front door waiting for them to pick me up, or go out the door to the car, with no stimulation whatsoever.

9. There is a reason the US FAA does not allow this even though there is no technical reason why not: That is a quick route to passengers being murdered by other passengers on any airline flight, because oh my God the last thing anyone needs is the person sitting next to them talking loudly into their phone for hours on end. Learn from Jurassic Park, EU: Just because you can does not mean you should.

Please only answer this if it feels right for you to do so, but I am curious about the nature of your interest in neurodiversity and why this topic holds a lot of interest for you.

A previous partner was diagnosed with ADHD, as have several friends, my current wife has been diagnosed with autism, as have several others friends, and I'm on the waiting list to see how I do (might be a year or two).

And minds are just generally fascinating.

Sometimes I can quickly see why a topic would hold interest for you and sometimes I can’t. I tend to think that when I can’t see it, the answer is “because it’s applicable to the life (lives) of someone (some people) that you care about”, but this must be too coarse a generalisation to be universal, I think.

I could actually see that argument holding up for that character. I doubt that we'll ever see the character relaunched, and yet I'm tempted to want to see it happen with this idea firmly in mind.
