There is a reason the US FAA does not allow this even though there is no technical reason why not: That is a quick route to passengers being murdered by other passengers on any airline flight, because oh my God the last thing anyone needs is the person sitting next to them talking loudly into their phone for hours on end. Learn from Jurassic Park, EU: Just because you can does not mean you should.

I tend to think that when I can’t see it, the answer is “because it’s applicable to the life (lives) of someone (some people) that you care about”, but this must be too coarse a generalisation to be universal, I think.
