It's certainly not my experience in Sweden when visiting distant relatives in the long ago. Food was almost always present at visits.

It also depends on what constitutes food, I suppose. Coffee is basically social glue for the Nordic countries.

It is surely relevant that dinosaurs are going to wander randomly about on the savannah, making paths and avoiding trees, whereas modern industrial ag is going to remove the trees and then make sure it systematically drives over every square inch of the field several times a season? Soil compaction matters much less if it's intermittent, because water (and plant roots) can get between the footprints and then diffuse sideways.

I didn't delve deeper, but regarding guests, I want to know: unknown guests? known guests? cherished guests? I appreciate the conflict reduction, though.
