3. As far as targeting Putinist Russia's internet assets go...in addition to protecting Ukraine and other countries on Putin's hit list, we need to consider a "stretch" goal: protecting dissidents and minority groups within Russia from the Putinists wherever and whenever possible. I hope there are people already working on that, but I'm not sure I'd want that investigated.

12. I've always enjoyed Gergiev's conducting - and I've seen him in person several times over the years - so it's particularly depressing to learn that he's an even worse person than I already knew. This really causes Wilhelm Furtwängler's association with the Nazis, which was quite ambiguous - they co-opted him, that's really the worst you can say - to fade into the dust.

Such a shame. And yeah, the corruption and siphoning of money is, if anything, worse than believing in terrible ideologies. You can be taken in by fascism, that kind of corruption really tells you what kind of a person he is.
