6. What a ridiculous editorial mess. Over a cartoon series not meant for anyone under age...15 to 18? Right? But because the franchise is editorially flexible enough to allow for stories aimed at all age groups in the first place, we've got this mess.

Yeah, if DC had just said "We make kids stuff" in the first place, and stuck to PG-13 ratings like Marvel did then they'd be fine. But once you start saying "We want to have adult fun over here, but not make the toys unsuitable for kids" you hit big problems.

Well, we live in a world where The Handmaid's Tale is an ongoing TV series, so I rule out little in such matters.

Probably a valid position.

It's certainly true that these kinds of policies tend to disadvantge women compared to men. And there are a number or similar policies which taken together have an effect of disempowering women economically.

I personally am unsure if the autocrats of the economic right are targeting women in order to create a culture where women are disempowered or whether there overall policy is to find any sort of vulnerability in any class of worker and kick the crutches out from under those people in order to create and maintain a pool of vulnerable labour with no economic agency and it's merely convenient to their cause that women can get pregnant.

Probably both to be fair them.

The third option is thet they think that if people really really tried then they could pull themselves up by their bootstraps, but that they won't try unless you take away the ladder, and that they just don't give a fuck about the knock-on effects.
