So hang on... the people who discovered the Dunning-Kruger effect... didn't properly understand what they didn't know?

1. + 3. *looks at video* Wow.

4. I don't know that the Dunning-Kruger spell - if such it is - will be broken any time soon.

5. Okay, that's interesting. Esoteric to me, but interesting.

7. Very good news. Passing this along...

3. And how fast a time-lapse is that magnificent show?

7. Wondering what will be classified as hate speech against trans people. Don't know about Norway, but it's notable in the UK how much such hate speech gets defended as "just asking questions" or "just saying that sex is real." Totally specious arguments in the cases I've seen, but that's what they say.

Classifying ideological or indeed any disagreement as 'hate speech' is an impartial tool that can be used against any group, individual or opinion at all, limited only by the current relative strength of the parties involved.

Incitement to violence is in my opinion a safer metric, and more practical to enforce.

"The Dunning-Kruger Effect Is Probably Not Real"

But... But... How can I feel smarter than everyone without calling "Dunning-Kruger" on them!? (I usually try to call Dunning-Kruger on people with at least a bit of self-referential irony implied)

Is the writer of the article trying to say that the popular understanding of the Dunning-Kruger effect does not exist? Or that the effect it was (apparently) actually observing - the issue of people's assessment of themselves in the area of specific skills - does not exist? Or both?

I agree that "the unknown unknown" is a different issue altogether.
