That article about the woman closing down her business because her husband lasted 3 days looking after their child made me furious. I am so over men not being able to look after their own ruddy children. My BIL is ruddy useless too and my sister is totally frazzled 😞

I've asked myself whether it might be worth it if there were follow through. That is, if men en masse admit that they cannot, and women can, then society is restructured to train men better and support parents in all ways (including those who want to do other work, perhaps paid, at least part-time), that might be worth it.

Men don't want training. The want exactly what they've got, and have staged mostly peaceful sit-down protests disguised as "the household-know-nothing just living my manly lifestyle" to achieve it.

Women could play this dumb about exactly nothing, we'd never get away with it. We *should* be able to do everything they do and run/clean the house, raise/clean the kids and prepare/clean up after the meals (besides many, many other things) without breaking a sweat and with plenty of vim and vigor left over for extracurricular activities or else we're just being so mean and selfish.

Men? Hahaha.

Why? Just because they can get away with it? In which case everybody needs to stop letting them get away with it. However that is going to work. In all honesty the fairest childcare split I have seen is in divorced couples with a 50 / 50 split of having the child with them.

There's this whole thing where men are bigger, stronger and can be really quick to anger over the most unpredictable things, not to mention conflicts over household chores and childcare can lead, like any other conflict, if not to the abuse I just hinted at, then also to literal divorce and breakups, so to say, "Just because they can get away with it?" is a) true because yes, certainly they can but b) totally disregards the very complex, sobering and sometimes frightening reasons why.

In all honesty the fairest childcare split I have seen is in divorced couples with a 50 / 50 split of having the child with them.

Which shows you how easy it would've been (much easier) to split childcare in such a fashion from the comfort of the previous couple's still-shared home before they divorced or broke up but nooooo, that was too much trouble for the usually male half of the equation *until* the divorce or break-up occurred, *then* all of a sudden...

And no, in a 50/50 split I'd venture it's still not fair or equitable for the moms, who chances are bear the burden of actually raising and caring for the child(ren) properly during their 50% of the time while most fathers rather absentmindedly just "have the kid(s) over" when it's their turn.

My preferred option is that women stop procreating with useless shits but I appreciate that's not always easy and some of them are good at disguising being useless until it's too late.

The Yesterday screenwriter got a share of net profits? FFS, never EVER get a percentage of net. Doesn't everyone know that?

The general unwillingness of men to adjust to more equitable personal partnerships with women has been one of the factors in the crash in marriage rates in quite a lot of rich conservative societies in Asia. ROK, Japan, Singapore are major examples, and China is getting that way too, even leaving aside its previous one-child policy (which had a huge number of exceptions anyway). Since in those places the number of births to unmarried women is negligible, due to various social structures being very much against it, this has led to a crash in births as well. I understand that Italy and Germany have a similar problem, for similar reasons.

If a married woman is still expected to work a full-time job, do the housework, look after the children, look after the husband, look after her parents, and look after the in-laws ....unless she actively wants children, what has marriage got to offer to any woman educated enough to be capable of earning a satisfactory living by herself?
