"GoodNews"
Date: 2020-04-30 11:26 am (UTC)I also had a feeling that reports of reinfection were overblown, I wish I'd posted that thought yesterday :) My biological informant tells me that failing to acquire immunity for at least some time is totally a thing that can happen (either for everyone, or some specific people, or under some other circumstances) but it's not *common* so it would be particularly bad luck if it applies to Covid. Obviously, that's just what's most likely, once there's data it's more important to look at the data, but it's also likely that there would be a lot of news reports worrying about the (real) possibility even if that's not actually a real risk but reflect reports of people who had one or more wrong test results, or who hadn't fully recovered, or were some of the small minority who happen to fail to acquire immunity to this particular disease.

COVID-19 reinfection, relapse, redo, rinse & repeat - whatever

However, part of the problem is that the test BC is using is only about 70% reliable (I don't know why we are using it). On the otherhand, the tests coincide as follows: positive=sick, negative=not sick, positive=sick, so.
