1. Truly horrific decision taken by that company. Especially in the present circumstances.

2. Another warning to police everywhere in this story: don't frame people for crimes. Most officers know better than to do this, but there's always the jerks, right? And now it's easier to get caught doing bad things to people.

Thanks for the Hammer and Dance one. I had wondered if China was still under lockdown, and that other report which showed two peaks gave me the impression that an ongoing lockdown (until a vaccine or similar was developed) would be necessary to prevent the 2nd peak. It makes more sense now how they are handling it successfully in China and South Korea.

If it helps, the "second peak" in China and Singapore seems to not be from domestic transmission but from citizens fleeing home from other countries, and bringing it with them (for Singapore the majority of infected people have been coming from the US and UK, for China, there were a lot coming from Italy).

Yeah. If everyone else can eradicate it there won't be a second peak.

But looking at the USA and UK that's not very likely.

The likeliest thing to happen is that countries will close their borders for a few weeks, try to get on top of the situation internally, and if they can do that, then reopen selectively, based on who else seems to be able to manage.

That would be sensible. And would hopefully push those countries that were doing the wrong thing to change direction!
