I'm registering with a doctor (now that I've been living in Edinburgh for a year). I went down yesterday and filled in a form. I went back today to have a quick medical checkup (blood pressure 120/70, I think, pulse 63, 12 stone, 177.5 cm).
Both times the secretary on the front desk was snotty with me, so it gave me great pleasure to hand her a still warm vial containing a urine sample and watch her hold it gingerly between two fingers.
It's the little things that make life worth living.

What's the deal with medical receptionists anyway? I've never yet met one who didn't seem to think she was a fully qualified general practitioner who is perfectly entitled to talk loudly about your icky ailment in a crowded waiting room.
