Still recovering from last week. Here's a quick illustration of how much my mood is food-affected:
I felt tired all morning. Head feels stuffy and my mind isn't really working.
I had beef and vegetables (onions, carrots and lentils) for lunch. No change in mood, and I still felt out of it. I wanted to snack a lot, so I picked up some cold meat and snacked on that.
Stephen popped out at 2:15 to Sainsburies, so I went with him to get some air. I picked up a Scotch egg, which I'm allowed the occasional one of (it's got about 8g of carbs in it).
30 minutes later I'm feeling much more awake, my brain is running and I'm even being vaguely productive.
That's how sensitive I've become to carbohydrates.
You know those people who shouldn't eat sugary things, or drink caffeine, because they bounce off the walls? I've become one of them. No tolerance left at all.

Date: 2003-07-08 01:17 am (UTC)Sean never develops a tolerance to caffeine. I told him today that he was a lucky basatrd having a drug that had a good effect, was pretty harmless, available everywhere and dirt cheap. He had a cappuchino at 4pm yesterday and was still flying at 1am (I have no idea when he went to bed). Come to think of it, he's a sugar freak as well.
I need industrial strength drugs to perk me up to that degree and it's not fair goddammit!
