Why have I never seen this in a zombie movie?

I mean, if America has vending machines for ammo, then why has there never been a scene in which our hero fumbles desperately for the correct change while a zombie shambles slowly towards him?

The little baggie drops from the top rack into the bottom of the tray, they all go off at once and shoot in different directions, and one drills the zombie right between the eyes.
