Ranked from most to least important

"More Important" means different things to different people.

On a day to day basis, my family have very little effect on my life. I game with Hugh, I chat to you intermittently, I phone Mum and Dad once a week (or maybe twice), but you don't really figure that hugely.

Irony, on the other hand, gets used on a constant basis. I'm not sure I could last day if I didn't have it.

I was pretty certain that's what you meant, of course I was being sarcastic, which I find far more useful that irony.

Sarcasm - to say one thing and mean another, in order to cause emotional damage.

So, by taking Irony, I implicitly have sarcasm too!

According to dictionary.com you're right, but I always thought that irony was something more subtle and elusive than that.

Such as one example from dictionary.com
“Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain).

Not "Hyde noted the irony of Andy saying he really liked cheese, when in fact he hated it",

It's frequently used to mean situations where one is lead into contradiction - so spending saying how great Pete Molyneux is because he follows his dreams, just before finding out the's sold advertising hoardings in Dmitri to Coke, would be an ironic moment, I assume.
