That's hilarious. The "Release to just the radio to build anticipation" strategy always seemed remarkably stupid to me. Especially nowadays.

I can imagine it can sometimes be -- sometimes restricting supply can let you sell to a smaller market at a much higher price, I don't know exaclty how, but I know it sometimes does, but I've no idea if that often or ever works in music.
